I read a line today in the book “The Alchemist” that really stuck with me.

“What is the world’s greatest lie? That at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That is the world’s greatest lie”.

I can look at my life just 3 years ago and relate to this. I blamed everything but myself for my life. I looked at outside events/persons as the reason for my stress or reactions. Bottom line is we can be triggered, but it is how we view these triggers is essential. Before I began learning emotional intelligence when I was triggered, my anger was so great I immediately got defensive and reacted harshly in many cases when I felt attacked. But were they attacking me? Maybe not. The lense in which we view our life is key to HOW we live our life. A trigger is on us and us only. It is something speaking to us inside that needs to be healed and until we stop blaming others and look within first, we will never become the person we are meant to be and live to see our full potential. We will never be truly aligned with the Divine no matter how clean our routines or bank accounts look.

When we realize our lives are truly in our control and remember the power within us God gave us, we become sovereign. We hear God. We feel God…everywhere. We are no longer blocked by the control of conformation, judgement and shame. We live a life in love, forgiveness and abundance in every way possible.

Ask yourself today when you are faced with a situation of conflict or a trigger… What is this trying to show me today? What do I feel? When was the first time I have ever felt this emotion? Perhaps in childhood? Perhaps in a heartbreak we thought we overcame. God has a way of teaching things beyond our mindset. Many times, we are so focused on how people make us feel that we stop looking within ourselves and avoid growth and healing.

Make a choice daily, to choose love. To choose growth. To choose life. To see the beauty in it all. In this you will find utmost freedom no matter the situation.
